|The Pearl notes states that this is a remake because of surface noise on the 5 April 1929 performance. Judging from the CDs I don't see that the earlier performance is much worse.
This is an interesting comparison since it is two different transfers by Mark Obert-Thorn. I prefer the sound on Pearl. The Naxos has less high frequency surface noise. However it is marred by a high pitch whistle near the end that is not present at all on the Pearl.
